A-Z appeal denied (decision upheld)
by Seller_Z1VmZ3fbCMGeu

Hi Everybody,

A customer ordered the wrong product according to the following messaged received via Amazon customer support:

"Reason for contact: Hello, the customer would like to return this item for a refund as he ordered wrong item and he doesn't want to pay a return postage. Please help the customer with a prepaid return label as fast as possible so that he can return it for a refund. Thank you so much."

The order was fulfilled by merchant (not FBA or Seller Fulfilled Prime)

The customer then opens an A-Z using the reason "not correct description" which contradicts the earlier message.

We comment on the A-Z case stating the customer has selected the wrong reason in an attempt to avoid paying return charges.

A-Z claim is granted.

We appeal and the appeal is reject stating "You did not provide a valid prepaid return address to the buyer."

I have checked the listing and it does not say "Free Returns" which to my understanding is correct for a fulfilled by merchant offer.

Am I missing something here or has something changed with the returns policy. Do we still have to offer a prepaid returns label for a change of mind/buyer remorse order. It is an oversized item (not heavy and bulky) but nonetheless expensive to return.

TIA,

Steven

A to Z claim Fraud
by Seller_ffDSmJ9POyrBl

Hello, Ive had 2 orders where both of them were delivered with a photo of delivery, proof of signature and GPS cordinates showing item was delivered at that address. One buyer even acknowledged that the photo is of his yard but said he hasnt received the order. Both of them opened a claim and amazon refunded them both. Went through appeals and was told that as buyer didnt receive the item refund has been issued. What more proof do you guys need? ????

this is totally unfair on amazons part. As a small business we continue to suffer due to fraudulent actions of buyers.

Buyer taking advantage of the business
by Seller_bOircv0UXN9jU

Please do advise me what I should be doing in this situation.

---

Buyer ordered an item and instantly claimed I sent him an empty box, which of course I wouldn't do.

I refunded him as to avoid all of the unnecessary messaging and explanations over a small order. Usually they go away.

He ordered it instantly again.

I cancelled the order.

He ordered it again.

Obviously I can't keep sending him free items (of course he will ask for a refund again).

Obviously I cannot keep canceling the orders because that affects the account.

Now what? 😅

So, the Customer Reviews page is being discontinued in favour of Voice Of The Customer.

I find VOTC useless. I have a couple of "Very Poor" listings because of Negative Customer Experience (NCX), but it doesn't give any useful feedback. Reviews usually (but not always) give you some information you can work with.

Unless I'm missing something, VOTC doesn't tell me anything about why the customer had a negative experience.

Amazon Gave Sneaky Refund Without A-Claim
by Seller_ae51e0CJoHqCX
Amazon replied

So I have just come across a refund given by Amazon to a customer for a bespoke order.

I was blissfully unaware of there being an issue with any order.

The order came in yesterday and had a note on the order with this incredibly rude message "Do not disappoint me please. I need this ASAP"

Anyway needless to say it was a next day order so I immediately processed the requirements and put this on a next day tracked.

It was received at 10.46am. By 12.46pm, I had a note from Amazon to tell me the order has been refunded.

No A-Z claim, no dialogue with the customer or even an explanation from Amazon why this order has been refunded.

I contacted Amazon and raised a Safe T claim. The safe T claim was instantly denied and I immediately put in an appeal and just waiting on the outcome.

I contacted Amazon seller support and they stated another department had refunded this without giving any explanation other than the customer claims to have received the wrong item.

In what World does an Amazon rep hand out a refund without an A-Z or querying with me first for a refund. The order value I think is irrelevant in this case but to me it is substantial and I am waiting for an explanation.

Malicious attacks from competitors
by Seller_VSTSOljfVIOLo

I am a British website seller. I sell products on the British website, but I was maliciously attacked by my competitors. The detailed questions are as follows:

My asin: B0F9XW9RXH and B0F9XVV8S6 are newly released this year and were shipped to Amazon warehouses on May 27, 2025. On June 23, 2025, Amazon began to receive inventory and did not issue an order during the pre-sale period. However, on June 8, 2025, these two asin received one-star negative reviews from the same buyer (not certified by purchase). So we checked the buyer's profile, where all the reviews were 5-star reviews and were not certified for purchase, which was obviously a competitor's malicious manipulation of comments, trying to harm our business! This seriously violates the standard of fair competition on Amazon platform. Please check it with relevant departments! The specific comment information is as follows:

Review product asin: B0F9XW9RXH

{personal data removed, moderator edit}

Comment content: Strange odor when producing H2

Review product asin: B0F9XVV8S6

Comment Title: Cheap Feeling!

Comment content: Dollar store quality

{personal data removed, moderator edit}

Comment date: June 8, 2025

{personal data removed, moderator edit}

Coincidentally, our other variant product asin: B0F2MWHHKH also received two one-star negative reviews on June 8, 2025, but it was not purchased. Check out the profiles of these two buyers, and they are all 5-star reviews and are all reviews that have not purchased certification! Competitors try to harm other people's business by manipulating comments, so please crack down on the platform!

A-Z claim, then onto a chargeback?
by Seller_d8WfbEccuaGMc
Amazon replied

A customer claimed they didn't receive their order (£599.99) despite tracking showing the item delivered at their address. Customer opened an A-Z claim which was denied, they have now gone on to open a chargeback against us.

I'm trying to understand what the point is in A-Z if the customer can lose and then attempt a chargeback AS WELL?

It is not only frustrating as hell that a customer is trying to scam us but we now have to spend valuable time defending ourselves against multiple claims.

The other irritating thing about the chargeback is that we cannot attach any photographic evidence. Is there anywhere images can be uploaded?

Crazy A-Z Guarantee Claim
by Seller_9uIyHDTdIs9Vz
Amazon replied

Customer bought two items, each 110.8 pounds. One was faulty, then he tried to return. I agreed and authorize Amazon to generate return Label.

My customer found return label short of information, and I email him my warehouse address. my customer did not post the product, but claim A-Z of the whole amount 221.6 pounds. Amazon did investigation, and decisively deducted 221.6 pounds from my account to the customer.

I wrote to Amazon, and Amazon told me I did not respond to the customer properly. And my money just gone like this. I believe the world has fair rule, but I don't see fairness in Amazon, at least, no mercy to sellers.
