How is this "Estimated packing discount" working for FBA sellers?
I have a consignment that I can ship to the warehouse using Amazon shipping providers in one box but I notice that I get a £7.60 discount if I split it into 4 boxes.
Cost to ship 1 box - £3.06
Cost to ship 4 boxes - £11.85
Am I missing something or is it going to cost me and extra £1.51 to help Amazon out?

If you only need to send one box, that would be the best option based on the figures you present.

Amazon claim, buy shipping 4 boxes; they hope to be able to sell your items faster !!!!! as they will be better spaced across their network

We are about to try this as we can often save £40 - £60 by spliting them across shipments.
I am interested how we actuall receive the "saving"? The help page says fee credits or such like, but all the fees we pay seem to be taken as disbursement, so how do we actually realise the credit? Reduced fees on each order???

I've been tempted by this. It's often close to £100 saving for a change from about 3 boxes to 10. (Minus the cost of the 7 extra shipping charges and 7 extra boxes)
My worry is that the help page seems to suggest that you get your refund once the shipment is checked in and everthing that was sent was correct.
My issue is that I send large amounts of low value items and they nearly always miscount. It's rare that what I send is exactly what is received. It's usually 3-4 units out if I send, say, 700 units.
Worried that this will mean I don't get the discount and therefore end up paying extra

Good news. I have made some progress with Seller Support.
After countless replies (and new cases as they kept only allowing live support) to try to get them to understand I seem to have finally got through.
They have replied saying they understand I can not find the see your savings tile and this is easily resolved. I just need to 'navigate to the see your savings tile'.
T'riffic.

it’s supposed to save you some money with reduced shipping costs to the customers later on when those products are sold and shipped by amazon. Whether or not it actually does is another question altogether as there is no way to track this as far as I know. I have shipped out using amazon recommended methods to help spread out the products across the network and all it did was it delayed, significantly, the receiving of them by amazon. Plus, I am yet to see the savings that I have supposedly made for using this method. I have reverted to old fashioned ‘send it all together’ method and let amazon transfer between FCs. The counts tend to be more accurate too.

I have some news.
I got a coherent reply from Seller Support. They have confirmed that the savings tile that they keep directing me to has NOT BEEN LAUNCHED for any seller.
The savings will be automatically applied 30 days after the shipment has closed.
There is no way to track them but Amazon have said if I don't get them I can open another case (not sure how that works).
I have written back to ask
a) What happens if Amazon does not receipt the shipment in full.
b) How can I tell if I have received the saving?
